FOR HELPING US RAISE
$1.1 MILLION DOLLARS!
Austin philanthropists never missed a chance to dance at the 13th Annual Dancing with the Stars Austin. The gala provided an evening of exhilarating entertainment filled with eye-catching routines, competition and philanthropy, all to benefit child abuse victims in Travis County. More than 1,000 people gathered in the JW Marriott Grand Ballroom to raise more than $1.1 million in one evening.
Creative Director Glenn Ball produced an incredible show of crowd-pleasing routines led by a group of 11 celebrity dancers and their professional partners. From a “Gonna Make U Sweat” freestyle routine by Olympian Mitch Gaylord that took home the Dancer’s Choice Award to a little Beyoncé, all of the dances showcased the dedication each celebrity dancer had over the past few months to this evening. After 11 routines that brought the audience to their feet, Brian Yacktman and professional partner Katrina Repka’s “Booty Swing” routine earned them the coveted mirror ball trophy and the title of 2019 Dancing with the Stars Austin Champions. First runner-up went to Sandy Bayne and professional partner Travis Herman, while Melissa Cason and professional partner Alex Romanov were awarded second runner-up.
A special thank you to Event Chairs Francie Little & Jenny Mason; Emcees Glenn Ball & Holly Mills-Gardner; Judges Brad Booker, Alex Franco & Sara Osburn; and last but certainly not least, our celebrity dancers, event sponsors, volunteers and attendees. We couldn’t have raised more than $1.1 million without all of you!
