The roar of an engine signified a call to action at this exclusive event held on Monday, March 30, at the Circuit of The Americas. Combining fast cars and philanthropy, participants raised approximately $130,000, benefiting the Center for Child Protection.
“It’s exciting for us to provide our supporters with such a unique event, all while benefiting the children,” Sam Butterworth, Event Chair and Center for Child Protection Board Treasurer, said. “We have tremendous Center advocates, and they definitely showed their passion for the cause during this event.”
Drivers experienced the sensation of navigating the world-famous Circuit of The Americas track where they experienced the 20 challenging turns including the blind corner at Turn 10 and the harrowing hairpin at Turn 11. Participants also received one-on-one instruction from professional drivers and were given the opportunity to drive or ride in some of the world’s most exclusive cars, including a McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes-Benz SLS, Lamborghini Gallardo LP, Porsche 991 GT3 or Ferrari F430.
“This was by far the most fun I’ve ever had at a charity event,” Kristin Holt, guest driver, said. “I had an absolute blast!”
All proceeds from the event benefitted the Center for Child Protection. A special thank you to event sponsors: AW Media, Hilton Austin, Tribeza and KEYE TV.
