The Center for Child Protection (CCP) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. All elements of this policy apply to all individuals in CCP’s database regardless of whether or not they are donors. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our website so our users are always aware of what information we collect and how we use it.

Personal Information Collection & Use

CCP may collect personal information on you if it is specifically and knowingly provided by you. Personal information collected may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, organizational information and similar information. CCP uses Raiser’s Edge to store personal information voluntarily provided when visitors donate, sign up for emails or attend an education or fundraising event. Any personal information collected is used for the purpose in which it was provided, for example: to accept a donation, inform you about CCP news and events, send tax acknowledgements, respond to inquiries and more.

The Center for Child Protection does not sell, share or trade personal or financial information with any third party or other entities. Access to donor information saved in the database is limited to key employees and select background checked volunteers. Giving history is only available to staff members who deal directly with donors on a regular basis.

We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us.

Accessing & Changing Your Information

If you would like to access the data that we received from you and stored, you may contact us using the information below. You may also contact us if you wish to update or change any personal information.

If you registered to receive communications from us but no longer wish to or if you wish to change the method you receive information, you can either unsubscribe or contact us directly. When you are removed from our distribution list, your personal information will still remain in our donor database.

Occasionally CCP publically acknowledges donors by name. If you wish for your gift to be anonymous, you can let us know at the time of the donation or let us know by contacting us using the information below.

Security

Any credit card information supplied through online transaction pages is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Such transactions are processed via Blackbaud Merchant Services (BBMS) which has validated compliance with both the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). BBMS stores an encrypted history of all credit card transactions.

CCP does not store any donor credit card information unless explicitly requested by a donor who gives donations on a regular basis. Any cardholder data stored in the donor database is encrypted and does not include sensitive authentication data such as card validation code or personal identification number information.

Tax acknowledgements, donation forms and copies of checks are kept in a secure location for three years. After three years, all paperwork is shredded.

Please be aware that CCP is not responsible for the privacy and security practices of any third party donation sites or companies.
