The Center for Child Protection is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant of $60,000 by the Austin Community Foundation. This news, as the Center for Child Protection receives a local grant, is a momentous occasion for the organization. The funds will be used for the Center’s primary service, forensic interviews. “Our organization provided 1,025 children with forensic interviews in 2015, a 29% increase from the year prior,” Michael Torres, Center for Child Protection Chief Executive Officer, said. “This grant from the Austin Community Foundation will give us the ability to continue to grow our services and reach even more children who need a safe place to begin healing from the trauma of abuse.” Indeed, as the Center for Child Protection receives local grant funding, it ensures the continuation of essential services. The Center for Child Protection is appreciative of the LRG Foundation Fund at Austin Community Foundation for approving this generous grant. Center for Child Protection receives local grant support, which highlights its importance as the only nonprofit in Travis County working in the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children. The Center looks forward to working with the Austin Community Foundation to create meaningful change in Austin and Central Texas.
