The 20th annual PlayBingo Ladies Luncheon presented by Alpha School was an outstanding success, uniting over 1,300 influential Austin women and supporters at the Hilton Austin. This sold-out event raised over $1.2 million to support child protection in Travis County.
2023 in Review
The luncheon featured thrilling bingo games, a silent auction with more than 140 packages, and guests dressed in their finest Western attire. Eight lucky bingo winners claimed fantastic prizes donated by local businesses like Diamonds Direct, The Domain, diptyque, and Neiman Marcus.
Hosted by the Friends of Christopher Guild, a pillar of support for abused children in Travis County, this year marked their 25th anniversary. We are so grateful for their dedication to not only this event, but also the children of Austin. The event also marked Jim Spencer’s last year as an emcee as he passed the Bingo torch to David Yeomans. We are also thankful for the valuable contributions of Melissa Lowe who is also a member of The Center’s Guardian Angel Society.
This gathering reaffirms Austin’s resolute commitment to ending child abuse, showcasing style, enthusiasm, and unwavering support from sponsors, Friends of Christopher Guild, volunteers, and emcees. Thank you all for making this event an outstanding success!

Through fundraisers like PlayBingo Ladies Luncheon, the Center is able to educate more community members about the prevalence of child abuse and provide even more services to Travis County’s most vulnerable children.
