Supporting youth aging out of foster care
Imagine starting out on your own with little to no support. Most of us start college or work with help from our families. Maybe your aunt gave you hand-me-down pots and pans to use in your first apartment. Maybe your parents took you shopping for new sheets for your dorm room. For many young adults leaving foster care this isn’t a reality.
Every year in the Austin region, hundreds of teenagers age out of the foster care system. These teens need the support of the community to ensure they are successful as they venture out on their own. You can help by providing essential funds for Life Kits.

2023 Celebration Recap!
May 20th was a remarkable event for 61 local teenagers who were aging out of foster care. The atmosphere was filled with joy and pride as the graduates, staff, and members of the community came together to commemorate their achievements.
The afternoon was packed with activities designed to uplift and empower the graduates, including inspiring speeches, engaging performances, and enjoyable activities. The overwhelming support and contributions from the community demonstrated a collective commitment to ensuring that these teens have the necessary tools and opportunities to flourish!
How to Support Project Graduation
At 18 years old, kids age out of the foster care system, and many must begin a new life for themselves without the benefit of support. Basic household items — a ‘Life Kit’ — will help these teens get started on the path to success. Each Life Kit costs $300, and the Center serves 60–80 teens every year
