The children and families we serve have often endured the unimaginable. For those who have lost a loved one due to sudden or traumatic circumstances, grief becomes a lifelong journey.
No conviction or court ruling can ever fill the void left behind. At the Center, all we can do is walk beside them in their grief, and one way we do this is by offering the opportunity to plant a magnolia tree in their loved one’s honor.

This simple ceremony provides space to reflect, to grieve, and to begin the difficult process of moving forward.
Magnolia trees symbolize strength, resilience, and deep connection. As they grow, they become living memorials. Because most of these tragic deaths are due to domestic violence, purple ribbons are also often incorporated.
Today, four magnolia trees stand on the Center’s property. Each one is a reminder that even after unimaginable loss, hope can be found.
If you or someone you love is navigating loss, the Christi Center offers a compassionate space to find connection, understanding, and hope.
