But behind every bingo card is something much bigger: a child finding safety, support, and the start of healing after abuse. For more than two decades, PlayBingo has helped raise critical funds for the Center for Child Protection, supporting free services for children and families impacted by abuse in Travis County. Every table, every auction bid, and every bingo card played helps ensure a child never has to face healing alone.
What Is PlayBingo?
PlayBingo is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Friends of Christopher Guild (FCG) to benefit the Center for Child Protection. Now in its 23rd year, the event brings together supporters from across Central Texas to help fund forensic interviews, trauma-focused therapy, medical evaluations, family advocacy, and prevention education.
What Does the Center for Child Protection Do?
The Center for Child Protection is Travis County’s children’s advocacy center, providing a safe, child-friendly space where healing can begin after abuse. When a child has experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, or witnessed a violent crime, the Center’s team works alongside law enforcement, Child Protective Services, medical professionals, and prosecutors to support that child while reducing additional trauma.
Services provided by the Center include:
- Forensic interviews
- Trauma-focused therapy
- Medical evaluations
- Family advocacy and support
- Child abuse prevention education
- Facility dog support to help children feel safe and comforted
Every one of these services is offered at no cost to the children and families who need them, in both English and Spanish.

This year, we’re keeping things cute and cozy with a full pajama-party theme; think comfy pjs, fuzzy slippers, and all the charm of an unforgettable grown-up slumber party. Hosted by FCG, the event draws more than 1,300 supporters each year and has raised millions of dollars for the Center over its 23-year history.
